Last updated: September 9, 2026. This page explains how to delete your Joura data. Joura works with no account and no login, so there is no account to close; deleting your data is about clearing what is on your device and, if you wish, the small amount of anonymous data on our side. See our Privacy Policy and EU / UK Privacy Notice for the full picture.
1. Your on-device information
Your child's name, the moments you write, and the journal Joura builds live in an encrypted database on your own device. They are never sent to us, and we cannot read them. You can remove this data yourself at any time:
In the app
Open Joura, go to Settings, and use the delete option to remove your information. This clears what is stored on your device.
Or by uninstalling
Removing the Joura app from your phone also removes the data stored on it.
Want a copy first? Joura's Settings include a "Download my data" option so you can export your information before deleting it.
2. The anonymous data on our side
The only information that leaves your phone is a small amount of anonymous, non-identifying data, tied to a random identifier rather than your name or email. It never includes your child's name or the things you write. It can include: anonymous, structural usage and crash data; anything you explicitly chose to send us (feedback text, an optional email, an onboarding note, or a one-tap error report); and, if you subscribe, your trial and subscription records.
To have us delete this, email contact@wandering-castle.com and ask us to delete your data. Because there is no account, please send your request from the email address you gave us (if any), or include the "anonymous ID" shown in the app's Settings so we can find your records. We will delete the anonymous data we hold for you and confirm, normally within 30 days.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google. Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription; manage or cancel that in your app-store account (see Support). App-store purchase records are kept by the store under its own policy.
3. Questions
If anything here is unclear, email contact@wandering-castle.com and we will help.
